RIO DE JANEIRO FOOD TOUR - Our Rio de Janeiro evening tour explores the food culture of the city as it shifts into night, moving from Ipanema to Copacabana through the local spots that come alive after dark. Over four hours and 12+ tastings, youβll experience the flavours Cariocas turn to in the evening from local snacks to comforting, home-style dishes.
We begin in Ipanema, stopping at casual neighbourhood eateries and street vendors before working our way toward Copacabana. Along the route, youβll visit a mix of botequims, small restaurants, and hole-in-the-wall spots, each offering a different piece of Rioβs food culture.
The menu reflects the cityβs mix of regional influences. Youβll try acarajΓ©, the Bahian black-eyed bean fritter, alongside dishes like bobΓ³ de camarΓ£o, a rich shrimp stew made with cassava and coconut milk. There are plenty of classic snacks too, from kibe and esfiha to pΓ£o de queijo, cod fritters, and cassava served simply with butter.
Youβll also taste some of Rioβs more everyday combinations, like a pernil and pineapple sandwich, tapioca filled with coconut and cheese, and fried banana milanesa. This is Rio de Janeiro's best evening food crawl.
