NAIROBI FOOD TOUR - Our Nairobi lunch tour explores the city through its everyday food culture from street vendors to local family-run eateries. This isn't about fine dining, it's 15+ tastings that define Nairobi's local food culture.
We move through central Nairobi, stopping at small eateries, roadside vendors, and neighbourhood kitchens where recipes are passed down and dishes are built around tradition, not trends.
Expect a wide range of flavours and textures. Youβll start with comforting staples like uji, a warm cassava porridge, and supu ya kuku, a slow-simmered chicken broth served with spiced masala chai. From there, youβll explore dishes that form the backbone of Kenyan meals, including ugali paired with greens like sukuma wiki and osuga, and fish cooked in coconut sauce.
Thereβs plenty of street food along the way too, from crispy viazi karai to beef sambusa, alongside more substantial plates like nyama choma, Kenyaβs famous grilled goat, and other slow-cooked specialities served with rice and broth.
Youβll also pause to taste seasonal exotic fruits and finish on a sweet note, from local baobab candy to saffron pistachio ice cream.
Part food tour, part introduction to daily life in Nairobi, this experience offers a crash course introduction to the Nairobi's food scene.
Coming in April 2026

The dishes are simple, varied, and deeply rooted in Kenyan culture from ugali with greens and coconut fish to nyama choma, street snacks, and warming broths served with chai. Along the way, youβll also try seasonal fruits and local sweets that rarely make it beyond the region.
