KAMPALA FOOD TOUR - Our Kampala evening tour explores how the city eats in the evening, moving through the neighbourhoods of Wandegeya and Nakasero. This isn't about fine dining. Over four hours, you'll try 13+ tastings at street food, grills, and small local eateries curated by our tastemakers.
Begin in Wandegeya with local favourites like fire-cooked chicken in tomato, served with a mix of root vegetables and greens, paired with pineapple tea. From there, the route moves through street stalls and grills where youβll try Rolex, Ugandaβs iconic chapati and egg wrap, as well as grilled matoke and charcoal-grilled pork skewers finished with chilli salt from a roadside grill known only to locals.
As the evening continues, youβll sit down to more substantial dishes, including beef in groundnut sauce and pea stew, before finishing with deeper, slower flavours like goat luwombo, a traditional steamed stew, and fried tilapia, served with fresh banana juice.
Part food crawl, part introduction to Kampala at night, this tour is designed to show you how the city eats in the evening.
